It reflects what this site actually does technically (what data is collected, which cookies run, how accounts and applications work), but recruitment involving cross-border visa sponsorship has real regulatory requirements specific to Romania and each source country. Romanian Gate Agency (“we”, “us”) is a recruitment agency based in Constanța, Romania, placing candidates from Pakistan, Nepal, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, India, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Kenya and Morocco, as well as candidates already resident in Romania, with Romanian employers. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website and why.
What we collect
- Job applications — full name, email, phone, country of residence, preferred industry, CV file, and, for candidates applying from our nine source countries, passport status, passport expiry, availability date and prior work-abroad history.
- Accounts — name, email, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in readable form). Employer accounts additionally store a company name.
- Status tracking — the application reference code and its current status, viewable without an account.
- Cookies and analytics — see our Cookie Policy for the full breakdown; nothing beyond strictly necessary cookies runs until you consent.
Why we process it
- To evaluate and progress your job application.
- To prepare visa and work-authorisation documentation, where applicable, for placements from our source countries.
- To operate your account, including sending status-update notifications by email.
- To comply with Romanian and EU legal obligations around employment and immigration.
- With your consent, to measure site usage and marketing performance (see Cookie Policy).
Legal basis
Processing your application and account data relies on your consent (submitting the form, creating an account) and on steps necessary prior to entering a contract of employment or service. Visa-related processing relies additionally on legal obligation, where the applicable immigration framework requires it. Analytics and marketing cookies rely solely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
- The Romanian employer you are matched or applying to.
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers (Hostinger for hosting and the WordPress content backend; our email provider for verification and notification emails) — each processes data only as needed to provide their service to us.
- Romanian immigration and labour authorities, where a visa or work permit is required.
- With your consent, analytics and advertising partners (Google, Meta, LinkedIn) — see the Cookie Policy.
We do not sell personal data.
International transfers
If you are applying from outside the EU, providing your data to us involves transferring it into Romania/the EU for processing. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for this transfer. How long we keep it

Your rights

- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
- Lodge a complaint with Romania’s data protection authority (ANSPDCP, dataprotection.ro).
Security
Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. Email verification is required before an account becomes active. Application data is stored with restricted, authenticated access only.
